        Hi 282newg35

My favourite elements are oxygen and potassium – i think they are OK 🙂

No – my favourite element is carbon – it can do soooooo many things. It can be as hard as diamond, as soft as a pencil lead – it can be brittle, or incredible strong like fiber glass.

And without carbon none of the life in the world would exist as we know it

        carbon is pretty awesome 🙂

hope that answers your question? let me know if you want to know more 🙂

        Hi 282newg35!

My favourite element changes all the time! At the moment I love Lithium because I am working with it and it is very interesting! Lithium was one of the 3 elements thought to be produced in large quantities by the Big Bang. If you put it in water it will react vigorously, but fun fact is it will float! It can conduct electricity, which is why I use it in my battery tests! It can also be used in ceramic and glass, lubricating greases, high performance aircraft materials, and anti-depression drugs. It is very useful!
If you want to read up more on lithium, this website (http://www.ducksters.com/science/chemistry/lithium.php) has some very interesting facts!

My favourite element changes depending on what I’m working on, and I’ve worked with a lot by now! My current favourite is Ce as it is part of CeO2 which is an incredibly versatile material, it gets used in a lot of devices which are important for clean energy production like catalysis and solid oxide fuel cells!
