      Hi Jamie!

Thats a good question! I didn’t know that they did! (you learn something new everyday. The only reason i can think of is that, because of the electric wire above them, its harder for animals to eat them!

      I’ll keep looking though….. 🙂

hope this answers your question! let me know if you want to know more 🙂

      Hi Jamie/226newgg35!

Well according to this science experiment, lots of plants, even radishes seem to grow faster under an electric fence (http://www.all-science-fair-projects.com/print_project_1434_50). Even I am learning something new today!

The reason for this the electricity stimulates the plant to produce certain chemicals quicker than they normally would. So I’m guessing this means that the plant’s cells are releasing a chemical (possibly food) that is causing the plant to grow faster that normal. This was studied and proven in the University of Arizona, and information on their study can be found here: http://www.redorbit.com/news/science/1320718/electrical_stimulation_increases_chemical_yields_in_plants/

This is actually pretty cool.. thanks for asking this!
