      Hey Hey!!

      The scientist I admire is Marie Curie because she was working in science when women weren’t really accepted in the scientific community! She along with her husband made great progress in the area of radioactivity and discovered some elements along the way (radium and polonium).

      Who do you admire?

      Louise =)

      Issac Newton is definitely the one! In terms of the largest single contribution of any one person to science I’d say his is the most important. He discovered and invented many fundamental parts of how we all do science today.

      There is the famous story of seeing the apple fall which led him to formulate the ideas of gravity and how it relates to all things he also developed the branch of maths known as calculus which changed everything.

      He also made the first telescope with mirrors, figured out how objects move so we would know where something would land if we threw it, discovered that white light consists of all the colours mixed together, and a bunch of other hugely important stuff!

      Hi SMeegan,

      There are so many i like and admire – but for admire i think it would be Barry Marshall!

      You might not have heard of him! but he got the nobel prize! He basically worked out that bacteria can cause stomach ulcers. No one believed him, but he was sure he was right! After having difficulty getting people to believe him – HE DRANK A FLASK OF BACTERIA! to give himself a stomach ulcer – which proved him right!

      I think having that level of belief in the results of your experiments and the conclusions they infer is awesome! so he’s a bit of a hero of mine!

      hope that answers your question! 🙂
