• Question: what is the solution to the current economic crisis

      Hey buzzmcdonald,

      Well there are 5 things we need to focus on to get over the crisis. They are:
      1. Government spending – they spend more than they have, so if they stop this then it will free up money for other things
      2. Taxation – we get crazy taxes here, so if the tax system is fixed then more money might be generated in ways people don’t mind (not like Irish water!)
      3. Building – supervision of house building must be carried out so we don’t have too many empty houses around the country
      4. Banking – they caused a lot of problems, so banks should be watched carefully
      5. Guarantee – the government made us pay for the banking problems, and if they find another solution we may be better off!

      There are probably more solutions available but I just can’t think of them!

      Hidy hi Buzz!

      The economic crisis eh? time for my thinking cap…… 🙂

      Im a scientist – so I’m sure theres loads of people much smarter than me that can answer this question (economics people probably)!

      I guess I would try and solve it with science! Perhaps if we grow really large lemons and make lemon batteries then we wouldn’t need to pay for electricity? thought that probably wouldn’t work! (i mean, we’d need reaaaaaaallllly big lemons…..)

      But seriously, the economic crisis is really a question of how do we work together in society, and what sort of life we want for our kids! The only way we can actually change that as citizens is to:

      a) vote for the people who we think have the best answers to problems, who we like and who we trust!

      b) Be the change that we want to see in the world!

      c) invent things that make peoples lives better – If we make things cheaper, safer and faster in a way that damages the world less – then everyone will get better happier lives.

      So if you want to help fix the world problems, you can do a lot worse than becoming a scientist! wanna come help us save the world?
